Comments: "Kalaʻe was a section of land having no definite boundaries. It extended from about Puʻu Kaʻeo...on the E, to Kipu on the W...included the mauka portions of Kaunakakai, Kalamaula, Kahanui 2, and Naʻiwa, and the lands of Kahanui 3, Iloli 2, Palaau 3, Naʻiwa 3, Manowainui, Kipu, and Naʻiwa 2." (Summers) "...several ahupuaas in central north Molokai are described as being in the kalana of Kalae..." (King) Also a small residential area, TMK 5-2-16, 5-2-18, 5-2-20. Also called Kalaʻe Loa (PEM 72).
